As in the title, I am really suffering just now. I am getting bad pains in one finger of my right hand (the middle one). My doctor has done blood tests for rheumatoid arthritis (negative), and all sorts of other blood tests (all negative). He said it's 'unusual' to get hand pain with fibro, is this right? He reckons it affects the large muscles and joints rather than fingers etc. I am in real pain with this, especially at night in bed. I have had x-rays done, the results will be ready in a couple of weeks.

Naw......you can have fibro pain anywhere at anytime......very strange places....some shooting pains, some cramping, dull ache...you name it........pain is the name of this game...that and bouts of total fatigue........so the CFS and FMS come together. _________________ Sula |

| If it is only one finger then it is possible that it may not be related to the Fibromyalgia. Since it does not sound as if the blood tests are revealing any clues, you may consider spinal adjustment by a chiropractor that is experienced with Fibro sufferers. Pain in the middle finger can often indicate a problem of the cervical spine, C7. Active Release Techniques, a method of treating soft tissue, may also provide some relief. A practitioner of this method would probably need to release the bilateral subscapularis, one of the rotator cuff muscles. |
