Hi Nadiauk
Glad that you finally got a diagnosis. Unfortunately many doctors will diagnose fibro as a last-ditch effort to come up with "something" to make the patient happy. Not saying this is your case, but it does happen a lot.
I have received much relief by following Dr. Group's Fibro E-Book. The diet and supplement recommendations have been so helpful with needed weight-loss and pain. The E-Book is only $19.95 and a great investment in education and natural ways to get your health back.
Just some suggestions. Keep us posted as to the path that you take. Many of us are getting relief, which is so encouraging.
Please post often. This is a great forum.
Blessings

| you should see a rheumatologist to rule out other serious ailments such as lupus - they can give you the "official" diagnosis of fibromyalgia. |

yeah, seeing a rheumy is a good idea. This article about fibro and disability benefits even mentions that.

Diagnosis can be difficult in the beginning. I had a virus that is usually harmless, called 5th disease (or slapcheek disease) and it sent my whole system into a tizzy!! They first said I might have lupus, then rhuematoid arthritis and then the symptoms changed to that of fibromyalgia. Now I'm pretty much a text book case of fibro. If you check out the symptom page of any fibro. sight, I find that the evidence is usually in having pain in many of the "trigger" points in the body. If you're just starting to feel sick, the illness can be many things before it settles into fibro.
Like the others, see a rhumatoid doctor first.....but keep shopping for doctors if you're not satisfied with the first one. Many don't really know what this condition is all about. _________________ I've had fibro. for 3 years now. It was triggered by a childhood virus called 5th disease (aka: slapcheek disease). I'm now trying a cleansing diet to see if it can help with the fatigue and pain. |
