I was diagnosed with Fibro several years ago. It has been a battle since to manage the pain. Many meds that I have tried did nothing to help. I have even tried steroid injections directly into the knots in my muscles but I was crying and shaking so hard that the doctor could not get them all and then afterwards my muscles swelled and hurt so bad I could barely move. Then a couple of years ago the pain and popping in my shoulders became so bad that I finally had surgery on it. Since then I can barely move that arm and it hurts all the time and now the other is popping and hurting as bad as the other one was before the surgery. So, now I am at a pain management doctor and have been on Lortab 7.5 for at least 3 years (4xdaily) and am now on a drug called Baclofen (3xdaily) which the pharmacist says he is seeing more frequently for treatment of Fibro (although it says it is for MS and spinal cord injuries). Will i have to be on meds for the rest of my life? I would rather take meds and be able to play with my kids although even on the meds i still hurt and can't play with them as much as I want. Plus I'm not sleeping well and I'm tired all the time. Any suggestions? Anybody know of any specialists in the Tulsa, OK area that they can suggest?
